SGMA mandates public participation throughout the GSP process, and an Advisory Committee (AC) has been created for the Borrego GSP. The 9-member AC is comprised of Stakeholders representing a wide array of interests in the Borrego Valley. The AC will make recommendation on key issues in the GSP to the County and BWD.
 
The County, BWD and the AC will strive to balance the need for water conservation with current and future land use issues, all the while trying to protect/enhance the “character” of Borrego Springs, including that of local businesses.
